A little about me:
I’m an Aussie who has been living in California for the past 5 years.
I’m also a Graphic Designer who, not so long ago, rekindled my passion for pattern, textiles and surface design.
I. ADORE. PATTERN!
I love Mid-Century Modern Design and furniture, but I’d be hard pressed to choose any one era of pattern as a favorite. As soon as I say “I love Modern fabrics”, I’ll fall for some fabulous 50’s print, or see something in an amazing Jacobean or Paisley that takes me by surprise.
Five years ago when we moved to San Francisco from Sydney, Australia, I was in awe of all the fabulous fabric and pattern available here. Blessed with a new baby that slept, I bought a sewing machine and started to sew again! It was through wonderful modern quilting fabrics that my passion for pattern was sparked again.
Yes, my fabric stash is under control… well… sort of…
I love sewing and really enjoy the learning and camaraderie of being a part of the East Bay Modern Quilt Guild. I’ve recently progressed from making lap sized quilts to making a King sized quilt (still a work in progress), I think I’m gonna need a longarm for that one!
I love trend watching and researching for my pattern designs.
I’m also addicted to Pinterest. (www.pinterest.com/kimba100)
My pattern style is probably best described as Retro/Modern, calling from the best of the past with modern design aesthetics. Each collection tells a story and as I build my blog you’ll see the stories come to life.
Please contact me if you need more information or you want to see more of my work.
Cheers,
Kim.
